The Web User Experience Engineer assists with the integration of information design and project concepts, and translates visual designs, user experience flows and content into functional and engaging interfaces for client projects. This person must have experience in interactive web development as well as a strong conceptual background. This person will work closely with project managers, technical lead, art directors, designers, engineers and other team members to achieve client objectives.
The ideal candidate is a versatile developer who can translate design solutions to standards compliant XHTML, CSS and Flash, and has an eye for detail that allows them to own the final quality assurance of their website projects. The applicant must demonstrate a strong interest in application development, the development process and web technologies.
Job requirements:
- 2+ yrs experience in one or more of the following areas: Agency Production, Web Development, User Interface Design experience.
- Expert-level proficiency in HTML, XHTML, CSS. Must be able to hand-code standards compliant XHTML and CSS.
- Intermediate-level proficiency in JavaScript, Flash 9+. Experience with JQuery, Prototype, Ext, YUI or other JavaScript framework(s) a must.
- Experience working with Content Management Systems (CMS) and e-commerce systems.
- An understanding of cross-browser and platform compatibility issues
- Solid background and knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Fireworks for producing and optimizing graphics for the Web
- Ability to handle multiple concurrent activities and have a flexible, positive attitude.
- Experience in development QA testing.
- Team-oriented, with an interest and willingness to help develop and mentor along with your team as it grows.
- Be able to juggle assignments while maintaining a high level of quality, organization, attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
